THE PENTLAND CHURCHILL POL ROGER GIFT BOX REDESIGN
I have chosen to work with Churchill’s last painting, representing his beloved goldfish pool. I added my own flare and edited the image to become a completely new piece of art.
"Possessing an almost superhuman energy, Sir Winston Churchill attempted to remain in public life until the very end. While he had spent his entire life battling political obstacles and depression and eventually triumphing over these challenges, by the 1960's his indefatigable character had begun to give way to physical and mental deterioration."
I have tried to represent this indefatigable character through this image which is eye catching and intriguing. Having read the book "Painting as a Pastime" by Churchill and researched his painting career, I have chosen to display the saying “made en plein air” as it is often used to describe how he painted. It also links to the goldfish pool as this was where he would meditate; “en plein air”.
