Today I decided that I would focus solely on the quality of the air, specifically around us. I realised that I have been trying to cram far too much information into one product. If I focus on one data set, I can create a clean, sleek and minimalistic product, which I would much prefer.

I'm choosing air quality as it's very relevant just now, as we have all seen the decline in air pollution since the lockdown. It will be very interesting to see how much it goes back up as the lockdown lifts. Will it go back to what it was before? Or even higher? Or will we realise that we didn't need our cars as much and appreciate the cleaner air?

This would be interesting to see visually. I toyed with the idea of using a clock, as it is something that we use daily, and generally look at the clock before you leave the house. It would be great to have a border around the clock, that changes colour depending on the air quality.

I did some quick sketches to play around with the shape. I do liked the cube shape though, it fits in your had and could be placed on your desk or anywhere around the house.

I made a cuboid to get the feel of it in my hand. I have a small LED matrix that I have used before. It is smaller than I would like but its good to see what it might look like on the cuboid.

However, I think it would be better to stick with a traditional round clock, as I find it more aesthetically pleasing and more easily recognised. Next, I will play around with the clock I deconstructed to see how I can get the lights around it.
