Quick look at Biofeedback and Biopolymers.
Biofeedback
It is a mind / body technique that involves using visuals or auditory feedback to gain control over involuntary bodily functions.
It’s built on the feedback that mind > matter and being mindful.
There are a few different types of biofeedback, but the ones that interest me the most are :
Electromyograph (EMG) which measures muscle tension
Galvanic skin response training measures body sweat.
Biofeedback is aimed at combating stress through relaxation techniques, and appears to be most effective for conditions heavily influenced by stress.
Biopolymers
Biologically derived polymers.
Principle of photochemical activation towards artificial photosynthesis and organic transformations.
A major part of addressing Climate Change is the development of catalysts for a variety of applications.
Heterogeneous catalysts
Are known for their robustness and ease of recovery. But they suffer from poor efficiency and selectivity.
Homogeneous catalysts
These typically conducted at ambient atmospheric pressure and room temperature. They can be tailored to be highly efficient and selective but often lack the robustness of the heterogeneous catalyst system.
Solar energy is essential in the development of sustainably catalytic systems.
Photocatalysis
Utilises light as a source of energy to drive chemical reactions ranging from complex organic transformations to small molecule activation such as water splitting and C02 reduction.
