Name : Breville Traditional Kettle

Capacity : 1.7 litre

RRP : £59.99

I got this kettle for under £5 in a re-use centre. It was much more difficult to take apart than anticipated : some areas required specific tools. I discovered just how many small components there are in kettles!

Here are some of the parts that were inside the kettle. Once I managed to pry out every tiny component, I laid everything out "exploded view" style so that it was easier for me to record all the components and also create my exploded diagram.

Once I had measured all the components and drawn out some plans, I cut some blue foam to fit the size of the body. My process for this particular project was to sand down the foam to be as smooth as possible, and then add as many layers of paint as I had time to do, before sanding the paint to be perfectly smooth.
